A Strong Foundation

different foundation, but the same idea
A strong foundation is crucial in life, it doesn't matter if the subject is a sky scraper, boxing skills, body strength, or anything else.

We are going to focus on the body.  THE CORE.  It has become a very popular word in the fitness industry, and it's not a bad thing.  People used to refer to their "abs" a lot and think that, that was all they needed to work on.  However the core is more like an equator, it is a complete circle around the body.  Included in the core are abs, obliques, low back, and glutes.  We think of the abs more because they're in the front, we see them and are concerned with how they look when other people see them.  However we cannot ignore the back side of our bodies.  So when exercising the core include abs, obliques, lower back and glutes.  Don't ignore doing Supermans, Back extensions, Planks, Side planks, and so on.

where you goin? NO WHERE!!!

There are a bazillion faphillion core moves to chose from, so chose some and do them, and do them often and take them seriously.  You might walk around looking pretty jacked, but if you have a weak core you are never going to reach your full potential.  The body needs that strong core in order to put big weight overhead and hold it up there without crumbling like a saltine, (mmmmm saltines) and big weight means big gains.  We have to push the envelope to make the gains, and without a strong core the envelope is going NO WHERE!

O.K. So core training leads to better training and overall fitness, don't ignore it, take it seriously.
Embrace the burn!

  1. Nicely done. People definitely do not realize that true fitness is overall fitness.
