I think I can I think I can

If you know me at all, you know I am a very POSITIVE thinker.  I firmly believe in the power of positive thought.  If you think it and believe it, IT WILL HAPPEN!!!  I believe it can be used in any and all walks of life, including fitness and health goals.  It can be used on a broad scale in terms of not saying things such as "I hope I can get to my target weight" but more like "when I get to my target weight....."

During workouts when things get tough, the positive self-dialog can really get you through some tough moments.  Very subtle word choices can make a big difference. I don't mean something as obvious as saying to yourself, "this is so hard I can't do this," because I don't want anyone to think like that.  I'm talking more along the lines of saying things like: "I can get through these next 5 reps."  Take saying something like: "I don't want to put this down." Just having the word DON'T in that sentence makes the brain turn towards negative thoughts. And with the words "putting this down," even though your telling yourself not to, you're thinking of doing it!

So no matter the odds against you or how big your goals or dreams are, stay positive, believe you can do it, and you WILL DO IT!!!  People all over the world and throughout time have done some truly amazing things, and it all started with the right attitude: to get things done, to push through obstacles in their way, and to believe in the goal.

If these guys didn't stay positive, they wouldn't have been able to do these amazing things; we have no excuse.....

  1. Awesome. I can't tell you how many times I have said or I have heard somone say, "I can't do this." Attitude is a BIG part of everything that we do and the right one always gives the best result. :)
