Hi My name is (insert name) and I used to be in worse shape.

I want you all to attain all of your fitness goals. This is our life; it’s not a competition. I want everyone that I know, love, am friends with, is friends with my friends, their neighbors, and everyone they know to be in the best shape possible. It’s good for us all.

I want everyone to be able to live their highest quality of life, to minimize injuries, sickness, and ailments, and I believe the way to do this is to have a high level of health and well-being.  I would like us all to have no restrictions or reservations about doing something that is active.  If you are on vacation and you’ve been lying on the beach, and decide you want to go for a hike, or try surfing, or go base jumping, volcano luging, crocodile wrestling, shark wrangling, etc, I want nothing more than for you to be able to get up off of your beach towel, collect your sun block, umbrella, and go do it!!!

Nothing pleases me more than to hear about cool active things that people do.  It doesn’t matter what it is, anything from walking around the block, to participating in a 5k walk or run, a new personal best on an exercise or lift, the loss of a few lbs. Whatever it is, it's all inspiring to me, and I enjoy and use your stories to further inspire others.

So here is what I’m asking of all those that are reading this:  Go to the comment section and comment! Tell me and the other readers a story about something you're proud of.  It doesn’t matter what it is.  I want to know, and your story might inspire someone else to try something similar. So let's hear it people, don’t be shy.  You right there, sitting at work, kind of bored, not really working anyway, take the next 5 or 20 minutes and tell me as briefly or in as much detail as you desire.

Thank you: I look forward to reading your future responses.

  1. Just for spring, when I get to work, I'm now climbing the 220 stairs to the 10th floor (numbered 9 for unknown reasons) instead of taking the elevator. But every time I get to the top, I feel like I need the oxygen that guy has in the picture above...

  2. After feeling like crap for too long & putting on weight, I finally went & got a physical & have now discovered that I'm gluten intolerant, thus forcing me to drastically change my whole diet (which was allready pretty clean), but now super clean & I have dropped 10lbs., in 2 weeks, I actually have energy to excercise, which I've been doing more & more of every single day. This is going to be the year I get back to healthy!!

  3. My sister, friend Trista and I have decided to train for a marathon next year. Trista and I are finally tired of sitting around and complaining about not being in better shape, so we are going to do something about that could really influence and change our lives in the long run. I know that this is not necessarily what you asked for, but future awesomeness is just as good!

  4. I work out four to five days each week, and sometimes I feel like I do the same old thing, each and every week. A couple weeks back, I decided to change everything around, and truly take your "plan" blog to heart. Instead of just doing the same old weight training exercises week after week, I plan two different exercises to incorporate into my training each and every day. I'm incorporating dynamic movements and extensive stretching, and I feel like I'm getting so much more out of my workouts having a plan to follow. Definitely makes a difference.

  5. Thanks to Pat, I finally got enough courage to sign up for CrossFit Palo Alto. I really enjoy it. Although it is not as good as getting a Patkick'in, it is getting me into better shape. I am trying not to get intimidated by all of the 20-30 somethings, and focus on my PB's (then again, I did finish 1st in the 2k row last week!). Also just signed up for competitive latin dance lessons out here in Cali with a new dance instructor. All good, and all scary, all at the same time. If you want a good workout, try a Latin dance drill class...
